Dean Elder

Dean Elder is the General Manager (GM) for HWR contracting. Prior to his appointment as GM, Dean was the Otago Regional Manager for six years. Dean has worked for SouthRoads for nearly fifteen years, during this time he has performed most roles within the business which has given him a strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and concepts.

Dean has extensive experience with both roading and drainage contracts as well as extensive earthworks and commercial developments. He has overseen the building of SouthRoads Otago from 20 staff to now over 150 which has included the development of the civil drainage division. When Dean started as a truck driver for the company, he did not envisage where his job would ultimately lead him. Consequently, Dean is passionate about focusing on the company's staff as its greatest asset.
