Nigel Powell

Nigel Powell is a Contracts Manager at SouthRoads, where he has worked for two years. He has a long experience in the transport industry, especially in the Northern Southland area, where he has been for 16 years. Before joining SouthRoads, he was the Branch Manager for Northern Southland Transport Lumsden for eight years, and he has built strong relationships with the local farmers.

Nigel's main role is to manage the Waimea Alliance Contract for the Southland District Council, but he also supervises some private work and runs the SouthRoads Lumsden Depot.

Nigel is always eager to learn new skills, and he has completed courses in Leadership and Management and Incident/Emergency Management (CIMS4).

Nigel enjoys the diversity of work and the culture at SouthRoads.

He says, "I get to work with a lot of great people at SouthRoads with a world of knowledge".

He thinks that the staff are the most valuable part of the company and that taking care of them is essential for the business success.

When he is not working, Nigel likes to spend time with his wife, go fishing, hunting, camping and restore old cars. He also loves to ride his Harley whenever he can.
