Contracts Manager Stephen has been with SouthRoads for over eighteen years and has gained considerable technical knowledge and skills from his experience across the Southland network. He has a solid track record of successfully managing staff and making timely operational decisions. With any project, he believes in doing it once and doing it right.
He is able to confidently liaise with all levels of staff and stakeholders. With over a decade in the industry, he has a wide range of qualifications and training. He has completed a General Managers Certificate, Infrastructure Asset Management, and is an INGENIUM Contractors Representative. He is a member of the Contractors Federation and holds a wide range of safety certificates and driving class licenses.
Stephen predominantly provides support to the Central and Waimea Alliance Contract Managers for Southland District Council. However, he also oversees some private work and other larger projects within the Maintenance Division. He loves the culture of SouthRoads and the variety in his role. He finds it rewarding to solve problems, especially if they have been around for a while, and is happy when the stakeholder or customer is satisfied. He has been successful in developing teams, through leadership and communication, who achieve both client and program objectives for SouthRoads.
He believes in getting stuck in and getting things done. Outside of work, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children. He is a sports fan, watching rugby, motorsports, cricket, and then getting out fishing, bush walking, and jet skiing.
