As Branch Manager, Troy enjoys seeing a project through from the tender stage to completion; planning, forming teams to undertake the task, and seeing the final result. He enjoys the financial aspect of his role and working smarter to see cost-saving benefits, not just for SouthRoads but for SouthRoads clients.
He has been with SouthRoads since 2001 and brings over 28 years of industry experience to his role. He started out in the industry on the ground and spent close to twelve years carrying out a range of roles within the industry, advancing into road construction as a final trim operator for over ten years, then with SouthRoads; progressing into Operations Manager, and then Contract Manager for five years.
Troy is always willing to pick up and learn new things, and this shows through his varied range of experience across many aspects of the industry. His ability to problem solve and stay positive make him an asset to the team. Troy says of SouthRoads, ‘I work with some awesome, talented, dedicated people that make SouthRoads a fun place to work.’ He finds it rewarding to lead the team forward, with a great culture and safety. Never one to give up, he’s a strong believer that a little bit of pressure can turn out diamonds.
Outside of work, Troy enjoys spending time with friends and family, whether out socialising or in the great outdoors. He’s also a big sports fan, and like most classic kiwis; a rugby fan.
