Nick brings extensive experience in the industry to his role as Waitaki District Branch Manager, with over 30 years in the industry. He began working at SouthRoads in 2014, after working throughout New Zealand across a range of roles in civil engineering, Drainage and Maintenance Contracts.
Along with a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering, Nick has a wide range of industry experience. He has worked in his last 25 years for companies like Fulton Hogan, Downer, and Transfield, as well as a period of operating his own civil construction and drainage business. This all adds up to having a range of skills that offers solution-focused outcomes for the contracts and clients he works with.
For Nick, SouthRoads may be growing into a large corporation, but it’s still grounded as a company, and firmly in touch with its roots. The business may have grown, but there isn’t that corporate mentality and there’s still that opportunity for everyone to have a voice and be heard within the business and to pull together as a team to produce quality work. He finds it rewarding to meet and exceed client expectations. He takes pride in the opportunity to work with the Waitaki District Council and hold the stewardship for some of the assets of the area, and the responsibility that entails.
Outside of work, you will probably find Nick in his workshop; woodworking and furniture making.
