SouthRoads staff will be competing in the National Excavator Operator Competition 2019
Run by the Civil Contractors of New Zealand, SouthRoads staff member, Josh Keane will be participating in the National Excavation Championships held this March in Feilding at the Central Districts Field Days on March 14-16. He made the grade after winning the Otago Regional Excavator Operator Competition held at the Taieri A&P Show on January 27th.
Challenges in the National competition include things to entertain all the family and really test the skills of excavator operators. They include such things as pouring a cup of tea, ‘slam dunking’ a basketball, painting a sign or opening a beer bottle. Other tasks demonstrate the real world skills and safe work practices that excavator operators come up against such as lifting and relocating a manhole cover, traversing a trench or navigating over pipework.
